A bit about me:
My name is Darshika Patel and I am a Physiotherapy Resident at Kawartha Care. I have completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy in India in 2010 and came to Canada to pursue a Post-diploma course in Fitness and Health Promotion from Humber College. After graduation from Humber college in 2015, I started to work as a Physiotherapy Assistant in two different private clinics. I have decided to take my career further in Physiotherapy and become a Canadian Registered Physiotherapist. I believe that physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, but also the foundation of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.
Why I enjoy working at KCWC:
Kawartha Care Center is a multidisciplinary center where different professionals work together to provide the best care to the community. I especially love that there is a focus on education and learning this helps me sharpen my skill for our patients.
My areas of expertise are:
- Treating Orthopedic conditions
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Postural alignment Techniques
I am especially excited about getting trained in Vestibular Rehabilitation, Pelvic health, GLAD (Good Living with Arthritis: Denmark) and Acupuncture.
