Foot care is done by a Registered Nurse or a Registered Practical Nurse who, in addition to their training, have gone further to specialize in foot care. Foot care nurses utilize their teachings to assess, treat, and prevent conditions such as corns, calluses, ulcers, all while trimming deformed or thickened toe nails.
A large part of a foot care at the clinic involves patient education and monthly to bimonthly follow ups.
Foot care may be covered under your extended healthcare plan. For those patients who cannot get this covered through their extended health, the expense of foot care may be tax deductible. Local laws vary and patients should check with their tax specialists for specifics.
