What is Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is the treatment of injury, weakness, disease or bodily dysfunction through modalities (i.e. ultrasound, IFC, laser therapy, etc.), exercise and manual therapy. Physiotherapists are trained in the body’s movement and are able to help patients improve their quality of life by maintaining, recovering or improving their physical abilities.

Many insurance plans will cover physiotherapy through your extended health benefits, some plans may require a physician’s referral.
